Dalahäst  |  Scandinavia inspired illustration
Dalahäst is the Swedish word for Dalecarlian horse or Dala horse, a super cute traditional carved wooden horse statuette. Originally from the Swedish province Dalarna, this cute horse is typically painted in red colour and featuring Swedish folklore ornaments. In the old days the Dala horse was mostly used as a toy for children, but in modern times it has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as Sweden in general.
Visiting Sweden and bringing one of those cute Dalahäst with me has been high in my bucket list for years! To make the waiting sweeter I created this illustration, and lately it become a side project where this artwork and a few more are sold as prints, as well as in a dozen of beautiful goodies such as apparel, stationery, furniture, home decor, and so on, in my print on demand shops: Red Bubble, Threadless and Society6.
